Is Myspace helping you? If Not heres how it can

So we all have myspace pages. Some are trying to really get famous, some have them because everyone does and some just have one as yet another outlet to get your music herd.

Here are a few ways that i have gotten more popularity via my myspace page

-I no longer us Soundclick or e-mail people MP3s of my songs
I force people to go to my myspace page and download what they like and listen to my songs on my page. It adds to your song plays and downloads witch then adds to your Myspace Music Rank and the higher your Rank is the more likely people of importance will start to pay you attention

-TAKE LOTS OF PICS
Your image is very important, you may think that taking pictures with your boys or doing bullshit like uploading pictures onto your myspace account can't do shit for your music, but about 60% of the industry is your image that is why these rappers and singers try so hard to maintain the images they come into the game with. Either your super thug and for your whole carrer you have to embody the soul of a gangsta even tho it isn't naturally you. Same as if you come in as a conscience rapper or a good girl artist. The industry needs to see how they can market you. They need to see if your even photogenic cause not everybody is and what happends when you can't even take a decent pic to get put into a magazine?

-Get yourself some Business Cards
Use your business cards, keep em on you at all time and make sure they have a link to your myspace page. Word of mouth is a mothafucka pass your cards around and encourage people to listen to your music on Myspace cause like I said to you before Myspace is all about Song Plays hits downloads and your music Rank..

-ADD LIKE MAD
I am not saying become a serial myspace friend adder, like add every mothafucka in the world but if you do have a music account travling through myspace searching different states and people and exspose them to your music. Send them a request as well as a message that you were on their page and was wondering if they minded checking you out. Listening to you and adding you as a friend. Most of the time they do, most people that dont want to be bothered by bands do not allow request from bands so don't be afraid to request people

When people Do accept your request, comment them on their page..If they too are an artist listen to they shit and leave a comment most of the time they return the favor and if they like you, now you have just met a new musical contact and or a fan..but you gotta try

If you just send regular request with no message people may add but wont actually listen to you music..you dont want a shitload of people on ya friends list that dont even care the point is to obtain fans..so make sure you show real love send messages and comments when requesting people from your music page

-Try To Do Videos And As Much New Music As Possible

Most of you guys aint in a position to do real shows or do anything real so just try to do as much as you can as far as making your own Youtubes and as much new music as you can. Try to get your name out and known make people reconize you when they hear your name. Either they gonna like it or hate it but they gonna no who you are and your buzz will grow.

Its all about of getting on, a lot of people are getting deals off of myspace. I met a guy like a year ago on AOL and he met a manager and is doing wild shows all over the place and is nearly signed all thanks to Myspace. So don't sleep on the powers that be via Myspace. Try to stay updated and try to get the most out of your Online Musical Accounts..Hope this helps ya..1

i didn't think about that. i took my songs off of soundclick but he kept mentionin' soundclick and cameron and i was like, am i missin' out by not puttin' songs on soundclick. i'm actually tryin' to save my beats for some rappers i work with... they are just on the mixtape thing right now so i didn't want to sell a beat to somebody else and then they want it later on...

all im sayin is you can sell all da beats you want but if u aint doin it right u wont get no royalities publishin or nothing they tryin to buy your beats out right so tho u may get a decent number for it u wont make another cent off your music..

im sure if dip is buyin beatz from myspace n soundclick...they still prolly gettin 10s of thousands for it but that still aient shit. producers now dayz r stupid all they want is exposure. they dont realize when they buy your beat exclusively they own your beat!!! period!! they own publishing rights n all that which means everytime your beat is played on a video game commercial, radio any of that, tha money goes to people like dip so they end up makin tha money back that they paid for tha beatz over a thousand times lol

in order to get a deal you have to had atleast went gold in your own hood sellin your own shit just to get the lables attention for them to even listen to your shit

Then you gotta get on put out a classic and do retarted numbers like 2 to 3 mill and still be in demand..that is when you got da swag and da power to talk some shit and make some moves

you are now worth something, you have to be worth money as a artist without your lable for your lable to put anything into you that will actually benefit you..understand what im sayin?
