I was just looking through the Sample Requests forum, and I noticed a bunch of people asking for huge refills, soundsets...ect. I don't understand this, why do people refuse to invest in their art.
If you call yourself a "beatmaker", then spend some money and buy the refills. I understand the requests for drumkits and shit because they rape you for crappy sounds (don't even get me started on that) but these refills are a TOOL. It's the same when people ask for cracked copies of FL or Reason and other FUNDAMENTAL TOOLS. If you want to get into this as even a hobby, spend some god damn money and do it right...
I'm done my rant...feel free to comment...

The thing is that all it takes is some saving up. Skip that coffee and pocket the change, if it really is your hobby then you'll be willing to take a small hit to be able to invest in it. I do understand though that money is a problem for some people, I mean I'm one of those people, but it's rarely a big enough problem that saving for something besides food and rent is impossible. If that was the case you wouldn't be on the internet right now. Like I said if you really love this music shit then you have to take some loss to make some gain. In most cases saying you have no money and not even attempting to save is just, plain ignorant.

I say whatever. To each his own and I have a legitamite(sp?) reason that I was asking for reason refills.
I bought "real" Reason 3 on ebay only for it to have been registered already, rendering all free refills from propellerhead null and void.
You know, you just gotta let things take their course, and if I become multi-platinum I will donate 5 grand to Propellerhead.

| What about the fact that because some people decide to steal this shit, it costs us who actually invest more? Quote: |

| I'm not gonna argue this one, just a tip. The free refills that Propellerhead gives you are really shitty, to run Reason you need the 2 soundbanks, those 2 are much better than the free ones on the Reason site and with some EQ'ing they can be made into jems.
That's another point, people think that having refills will make them better. Investing in your art doesn't only apply to money but also to time. Learn the more technical aspects of production. I swear to god you can go through the beatmaking section and pick out who used the overcompressed ModernBeats kit. Or who can't EQ for shit. You can have the most creative idea, but it ain't shit without you being able to make the idea into music that sounds good. Quote: |

| Don't get me wrong, I'm also just a kid (16). All you have to do is use the simpler tools, like Magix, to make beats. Adapt to it. Sell the beats, and then upgrade your shit. On the real FL is ruining the art of production, it's a great program and all but some kid will make a mistake in it, people will think it's hot and next thing you know 50 songs with that "mistake" are on the radio.

If this your doing this as a hobby your investing your time, no? You can still invest money in this art. I don't believe I alluded to this being only for the "pros" (if you consider a pro as a amature that gets paid), it has a lot more to do with love for beatmaking than if your a "pro" or not. In all definitions of the word "pro" I would consider myself a amature. I've sold the odd beat yes, but I consider this a hobby, never would I consider making a living off of this...that would make it work and less art.

all im sayin is that if im gonna make bread off their program, even if its some extra spendin here and there money, then i see a point of me buyin the program. but if im just usin it to myself, seein what i can do with it like remixing songs and shit then i dont see why id "have to" pay

I meant to address both pro's and hobbiests that do this and love it enough that they should be willing to invest, you feel me?

Some people buy some don't, thats just life...now get over it.
The amount of people who actually buy surpasses the amount of people who don't.
If it were the other case then companies wouldn't bother makin the programs anymore. I'm not taking sides, I'm just sayin get over it.
