i'm from the n.o. and i have to disagree with your statement. that bitch called katrina didn't spare anybody, whether they were gangsters, thugs, christians or preachers. my grandma lost her pastor... churches were destroyed along with the clubs and bars...

This thread was started in sarcasm. I live just outside Mobile, Alabama, even we got a solid 6ft of water in some lower areas. All the overly-religious, anti-black people always say that Katrina hit because of all the sins the Negroes in New Orleans committed.
New Orleans' sin: not signing a state of emergency earlier
Texas' sin: the Bush family
I just think it's funny how the tables have turned now.

Why do people hate Bush so badly? He kept the Automatic Weapons Ban from being reinstated, he pimped Congress into giving him the power to invade an oil rich nation, and he's shown the world that America is not to be fucked with.
Now, with that being said, I don't want a single fucking person to blame Bush for the rising oil. It's not his fucking fault. Blame the rising prices on OPEC and the Washington politicians who lack the balls to invade additional oil rich nations and drill in Antarctica and ANWR.
If anything, they should repel Amendment XXII and allow Bush to run for another term (with McCain or Ron Paul running as VP). He would get my vote. Instead, I am forced to vote for McCain and pray that he wins in November and that Ron Paul or Rudy Giuliani wins the nomination in 2012.
Yea, I think that sums up my feelings on Bush.

^^ How about that Bush promised he wouldn't spend a dollar more than Clinton did? If he had stuck to that spending philosophy, even WITH his tax cuts made permanent, then we'd be projecting a 10-year (2000-2010) surplus of 3.6 trillion dollars, but we're currently 9trillion dollars in debt?
That's a pretty fuckin' big turnaround in 8 years, chief.

Invest in the Euro, I do.
As far as spending, as with most other issues, the ultimate decision comes from Congress, not the President. To my knowledge, we've achieved the highest increases in debt in the past four years, in which we've had a Democratic controlled Congress.
The Democrats are responsible for passing the laws that have fucked our economy up. If they really had a problem with the war in Iraq, like so many Democrats claimed, they could have joined together and cut the war funding. That is where most of our spending is going, and while I agree that it is necessary to rape the sovereignty of a small country from time to time, we have spent too much time on our current invasion project in Iraq. The Democrats could have ended that, but guess what, they haven't.
This is why the American people should vote for McCain and this is why the American people should vote to bring the Republican party back into the Senate and House majority.
If people want a better economy, vote Republican. Look at Reagan. That's a great example of how a Republican can fix our country. I'm not saying that McCain can do everything that Reagan can, but he will do more than Obama could ever envision.
People don't realize that Obama is not the "savior" of our country. Obama is not a Kennedy. Obama is not FDR. Obama isn't even as qualified as John Kerry.
Obama, as a Democratic Senator, is part of the problem. McCain, a Republican Senator, is the solution. :)
Yeah...

Yeah... | Gonna go point by point on this one since I got a refill on my ADD meds:
1) Congress has only been Democratic controlled since Jan. 3, 2007.
2) I tend to follow the theory that porkbarrel spending on both sides is responsible for our deficit, WITH the factor that we're in a war (that I'm not arguing about re: who voted for it and the funding and all that), you just can't spend hundreds of millions of dollars at a time for shit like a Bridge to Nowhere (actually, 3 or 4 of them) in Alaska.
3) I'm honestly, legitimately still undecided about who I support (can't vote). On one hand, I can't help but be scared of McCain's continuation of Bush policy (and it's not as crazy as Obama says, but McCain definitely aligns himself with Bush on several issues). I think that if McCain picks Lieberman for VP, I will get behind him. That would go down as a greatly historic moment in an already historic campaign.
4) Absolutely, I think Reaganomics was MORE impressive than the New Deal, and that's what we need now.
5) Obama's definitely not greatly accredited and accomplished. But I think it might be what we need, consider the story of Lucius Cincinnatus, who took over Rome for just 2 terms (that was short then), won a war, fixed the money system and then went back to his FARM. Obama might not be a Kennedy, but I'm not sure Obama isn't a Cincinnatus. I don't know.
6)re: problem, solution:
You know I have to get at least one "fuck you" into every post I make, so fuck you, peace
