was go0d everyone, herez the scoop...i have to write a paper for my sociology class...i have to interview someone whether it is the same religion or different from myself (it doesn't matter) and write their responses in a paper form...so these are the questions below...i was wondering if anyone is interested, you dont have to give me a name, all i need is the religion and the answers to these questions....thanxz to anyone who is interested.... 1. What are the defining features of their subcultural group (language, religion, food, music, dress, life cycle rituals, holidays)?
2. How significant is their cultural identity to them?
3. How does their culture/religion etc. structure their social life in terms of holidays, rituals, family gatherings, attending worship? What foods are served at these gatherings?
4. What are the important social groups to which this person belongs?
5. How does their culture/religion define masculine and feminine behavior?
6. What toys were given to them as a child, what sports did they play, what clothes were they expected to wear?
7. What rites of passage marked the passage of this person through the life cycle? Include birth, adolescence or coming of age, adult, death.
8. If the person is female ask about her first menstruation in terms of information about it, who gave her this information, how old she was and any rituals or behavior chanages associated with it.
9. What are the cultural criteria for achieving successful womanhood and manhood?
10. Focus on the life cycle and agents of socialization. What did they learn about gender identity from family, peers, religion, workplace, the media. Were there any conflicting messages such as family/peers or family/media?
11. How is their cultural identity different from that of their parents?
12. What about their culture makes them proud? What would they like to see change? |
