| Can I Re-Install Windows Xp On 2 Partition HD w/o Losing Data? -

i have one hard drive but it has 2 partitions... so i was wonderin' if i can reinstall windows on partition one w/o losing any files on the partition two.
my pc crashed but i was able to get it back up and i think that i need to reinstall windows to clean things up. i think the problem is the epox motherboard (i should have stuck w/ asus) but i can't get a new motherboard until i upgrade my processor to a dual core. so i was wonderin' if my pc crashes again and i can't get it back up, if i could re-install windows and not lose my files. hopefully, my pc won't fcuk up big time until i can buy an external hard drive and back up my files...
my wireless keyboard and mouse would quit workin' for a second or two (the extra scroll buttons wouldn't work). so uninstalled the software, restarted my pc, and i reinstall the software. but the last program wouldn't uninstall correctly (it would uninstall but it would still show up in add/remove programs) and the software for the mouse's scroll button and the play/pause/stop/forward/back buttons on the keyboard wouldn't install. then my pc would freeze when i tried to install it again... then i got the blue screen when i tried to restart it... but i went back a couple days usin' my restore point and my keyboard/mouse software is back now.
i have a feelin' that my motherboard is causin' the software problems. another problem was the wireless receiver for internet wouldn't detect the modem so i had to buy a 50 foot ethernet cable in order to connect to the internet. i went from an asus motherboard to an asus motherboard to another asus motherboard (YaY for newegg's return policy) to a soyo motherboard to a epox motherboard all in the span of 6 months. i had my friend's dad install the epox motherboard (he is pc technician at his job) so that there would be zero chance of me fcukin' something up (this was 2-3 years ago) and it seems that i still have motherboard problems. i should have stuck with asus.
sorry for the long ass post... it seems that i have endless pc problems and that xiet pisses me the fcuk off.
