this is a nice mix, did you make this beat,
this beats is real nice, it fits with the
mood of the track..beat sounds kinda pretty professional to me.
i like the violin you put there(if that is a violin)
the whole track is done reall well, not my type of track tho,
mainly cuz im into other types of raps, but still the mix wuz very nice.

thanks for the feedback, i made the beat, mixed it and mastered it myself. All in FLStudio 7. Just got a bunch of 3rd party mixing and mastering plugins - not the best but does the job. The sound you are talking about is a string ensemble with violins, cellos and violas, etc.

    Appreciate the feedback.

I like the original myself.. But this one has a lot of different things going on with it. It's nice to hear someone that has some random ideas. Thanks for this. Grimey.

Whats good, thanks for the feedback. For this particular beat, i didnt use too many mixing plugins because the instruments themselves meshed pretty well. I have cakewalk sonar and i used its plugins as well as some other third party plugins. From sonar, i used the Sonitus compressor, delay and parametric EQ mainly. I have the Waves Diamond bundle and mainly used the Ultramaximizer and Doubler 2 on like the strings and if i have brass to give it a wider and surround feel. From FL Studio, pretty much the only plugins i used was the Filter to filter out frequencies i didnt want from instruments and the Reverb which i just used the send function on the mixer track to send it to each individual instrument that needed it.

For mastering, i used the Izotope OZone stereo enhancer to first enhance the stereo, Sonitus Multiband Compressor, Izotope OZone harmonics enhancer, mastering reverb, and paragraphic EQ (In that order) and finally i used Fl Studios Fruity Soft Clipper.

Some very helpful visual tools you should use when mixing are Voxengo Span - which is free - to identify frequencies and Waves PAZ Analyzer which is pretty powerful and identifes things such as Phase cancellation, etc.

This is by no means a professional quality beat but is good enough to be used on mixtapes, promotional materials, etc.

FL Studio is pretty powerful and i like to use it better than Sonar but DONT USE too many of the sounds or plugins that come with it. Get third party plugins, they work and sound better.

There aren't enough hours in my day to peep youtube or MySpace music, but I would be happy to give your work a listen if you upload it to somewhere like 4shared and post the link.
