Thread: Follow Me (DJ Smith & Wesson Mix)

Default Follow Me (DJ Smith & Wesson Mix)

I've been EXTREMELY BUSY with school and shit, but I was finally able to get on the net and fuck around tonight. I made this mix in June but I think I'll put it out on the table for review right now cuz I'm bored and want some criticism on my new stuff.

Anyways, I tried to make the hook like the version that Eminem mixed. I think it sounds somewhat similar in the meaning, but idk you tell me.

first 20sec's is really feelling, damn its sounds perfect, good to listening,
but the Pac's pella is sounds uder the beat, turn the lovume of the pella UP, and its gonna be alright, or just change the beat cuz the kicks are dropping on the pella that why its sounds like the pella isunder it.
    the pella is on
    the hook is perfect.

Hm..this is interesting. Beat is like some Just Blaze/Heatmakerz for Rocafella/Dipset style joint, and you put some Pac to it. Beat is hard, and surprising Pac sounds natural on it. I think the acapella may have came in a lil early from the jump though because there are some spots throughout the song where you can def tell it's a lil off. Other than that though, def some good ish you have here. Keep doin ya do and check out my threads if you get the chance. My newest ones are in my signature. Bless.

This is really nice mix i really like the beat (I got it lol)
I didn't really like how Pac's voice sounded because you lowered the tempo you can tell so much
Maybe for your mixes you can use a song that has a closer tempo to the instrumental
    But overall i give it a 9/10

Thanks everyone for your comments. It prolly is a lil off. I haven't been mixing or anything for what seems like forever so I'm prolly rusty. I'll make sure to fix that.

To everyone that posted, I'll try to get back and comment on your work as soon as I can. I've been REALLY busy lately, but believe I'll return the love.

Smith & Wesson, I'm feeling your drums & the sample. Conceptually, I love the "follow me" in the sample, then following that up with the Tupac sample. Turn up the Pac acapella & you got it homie!

    Great job.

By the way, I just started a thread with a joint I did (Michael Jackson's Dancing Machine ft Akon, Daft Punk, Ludacris, T-Pain, & Rick Ross) & I'd love some feedback from a fellow musician.
