Thanks for taking the time to do this interview HotPink. Tell us a bit about yourself, your name, age, where youíre from and an interesting fact if you like.
Hi, well, my Rap name is currently "HotPink" but not for long, we do expect to change it in the near future.

I'm 28 years old Born in Miami, Florida, raised in the streets of the Atlanta, Georgia.

Is there a story behind your name HotPink?
When I first hit the scene my name was actually "Pinky", that name was stolen so I came up with "HOT PINK" as an alternative since I was what they call A "Hot Girl" I thought "Hot Pink" would make perfect sense.

How long have you been rapping?
I've been rapping about 12 years, recording 3 years.

What first got you interested in becoming a rapper?
My lifestyle lead me becoming a rap artist. I live that Hardcore Life; and since I'm a poet and an author, it was only natural for me to become a rap artist.

    What/who inspires your music?
My life, my personal experiences and my feelings inspire my music. All my music is from the heart, I couldn't create any other way.

Do you see being a rapper as a career, or as a hobby?
At the time it is a hobby, however my goal is to make it a career in the near future.

What are you trying to do with your music? Do you want to help your community? Are you trying to get rich? What is your goal for your music?
With my music Iím trying to tell my story. Make the world feel where I'm coming from.

Iím always helping others, and once I get in a position to do more I undoubtedly will.

As with any career income is an objective.

My goal is to create a future for me and my family.

Have you ever performed live? How did it feel?
Yes Iíve performed live, it was a great feeling. The more I perform the more I want to perform.

Do you have any kind of management, publishing or distribution team behind you? If so what are their responsibilities?
Not at the moment, and this too will change in the near future as well. I am a developing artist.

What are some accomplishments that you have achieved, and are most proud of?
Iím an over comer, Iím most proud of that. I also wrote an autobiography that will soon be turned into film; Iím excited about that as well. Itís kind of a big deal.

Have you ever made any contact with major artists or other high positioned people in the music industry and do you keep in contact with them?
In the music industry, yes, Iíve made contact with quite a few people such as "2chainz", "Wingo" of Jagged Edge "Playa Fly", "Mr.ColliPark" and others that I canít think of at the time, but I havenít made contact with anyone recently.

Whatís one tip would you give to other aspiring independent artists?
"Be the Best you. Your potential may very well be better than "the best" of them."

What do you see is in the future for the music industry? How do you think it will evolve/change?
With time everything gets better, music moves us into the future. Whatever is going on in the world music will let you know. I donít think there's change in music, but rather a change in life, which is necessary to grow.

Do you feel like the internet is helping you as an independent artist?
Absolutely! I'm able to reach more people via internet and be places I couldnít have been without it, faster.

How do you think social networks such as Facebook and Twitter have affected the music industry?
Theyíve help independent artist connect with potential fans, and get there music heard and out there. But on the downside it has inspired major artists who have lost touch; and enabled them to steal or even impersonate other independent artists image, style, and lifestyle with the public none the wiser. You'll just be watching TV one day and notice "you" have been stolen.

Where can we hear your music online?
You can visit my website www.OfficialHotPink.com for updates.

What projects are you working on at the moment?
Currently in working on My New Single "Party Party, Party", this will be available on iTunes by July 17th.

We're also working on the movie to my autobiography which will premiere sometime this winter.

Follow me on twitter for updates on these projects @TheRealHotPink.

Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years time?
Good question! In the next 5-10 I will have completely accomplished ALL my goals. I plan to retire before Iím 40 so Iím working to make that dream a reality. I will be a Powerhouse within the next 5-10 years, mark my words! Lol.

Do you have any shoutouts you want to give?
Yes, I would like to give a special S/O to everyone who let me down. Everyone who taught me I couldnít count on them; and everyone who truly loved me. It is because of them that Iím so determined and so motivated. I promise you, I will NOT stop. Thank You.

    This is just the beginning
