In our last article about selling beats online we discussed Off Page SEO / Getting Links, in this article I will tell you about Article Marketing, another way of getting links to your beats website.

What is Article Marketing?

Article marketing is probably one of the most time consuming ways of marketing your beats for sale online, but it is free. It is time consuming because you have to write the articles and then submit them to article directories. Article marketing won’t bring you an instant stream of visitors to your website, but it will always get you links and bring visitors if the articles you submit are well written and easily understood.

How do I find which keywords to articles on?

Keyword Research
Keyword research is all about finding low competitive keywords with a high number of searches.

If you want “fly-by” traffic you should watch Google Trends, Yahoo! Buzz, and social networking sites such as Digg, Reddit, and Delicious, these sites will give you an idea of hot topics.

What do you do when you have found your keywords?

Write Articles
When you have found your keywords, you will want to start writing the articles. I wouldn’t suggest writing articles for every keyword you found, instead write articles on words and phrases that get at least 50 searches a day, and there are less than 5000 search results.

When writing articles you want the keyword you want to rank for in the article title, introductory paragraph, somewhere in the body of the article and at the end of the article. Remember what I said before about not repeating your keywords too many times? The same applies here.

If you’re not that great at writing articles yourself, or you don’t have enough time, there are people online who will write articles for you really cheap. They usually they accept payment via PayPal.

Always check people’s feedback, ratings and sample articles. If they have bad feedback and ratings, do not use them, also don’t use them if their sample articles are broken English, and contain bad grammar, and lots of spelling mistakes.

Another thing, when getting other people to write articles for you, do not pay them before you get the articles. You should also search for sentences in Google to check the articles haven’t been copied/pasted.

When you have your articles written, you need to submit them to article directories.

Remember these sites want unique articles so you can’t go submitting the same article to each site, you will need to change them up a bit, or submit completely fresh articles.

When submitting the articles include the link to your website in the resources box. Put something like “For more exclusive rap beats visit our website at…”, in other words give them a reason to follow the link and go to your website.
