Flow: the flow IS boring like Hof said. It's so monotone, no dynamics in it, no variance in your voice, it's just boring to my ear. The fact that the beat was pretty plain and monotone didn't help that either.

Lyrics: Hearing them spit, I can understand how the rhyming works and that parts cool, but the lyrics don't make any sense. What picture are you trying to convey? It's obvious this isn't some sit back and kick it in the club song, so the lyrics should tell a story or paint some kind of picture, and all they do is rhyme. The rhyme patterns are tight, but it makes no sense and that's what bugs me about a lot of the back packer sound (which I would classify this is) and that is that it seems like they go out of their way to be artistic and abstract, and say shit that sounds like it would blow your mind you just have to think about it but really, it's just doesn't make any sense other than to be there to sound "deep".

    That's my opinion.

    thanks for your opinion
    i appreciate it
and you sound mad real with it
    more than hof
    but just to clarify
this was just a lil intro to something
    i'm working on
and it was recorded on a hand held
digi recorder with the beat playin on my stereo
    in the background
while i rapped it in one take
so of course there are no other vocals
    dubbed
behind it or ad libs etc to add accents to certain words
but once i'm able to access a true studio
    that'll change
ummm as far as what you said about the flow
i don't really agree with it
if you really listen, there are accents on my voice
    for certain words
    richter, mister, victor, tripta, elixiiir
and as far as the lyrics
the lyrics to me are a freestyle type joint ya know
the first part is braggin you know
that last part is about bein true to yourself
even tho there's alot of fake around you
and even tho life is hard
keep diggin and you'll find the diamond
    within your own self
and of course everybody cuts and shapes
their diamond in their own way- thus the facets
if you didn't get it then hey
you didn't get it or loss in the theatrics
but like i said this is an intro that's all
it even says it on the soundclick player
    16 bars intro
    lol
    but hey it's aiight
like i said, i'm not afraid to step to the plate
and if anybody wants to battle me
then can call my name out
i'm not scared to bust a flow
    not everybody's gonna dig it
but i'm gonna elevate the art by using
    vocabulary and my own style
instead of sounding like somebody else
    or emulating them
    and that's
    from ya boy

Yeah use use accents or however you describe it, BUT but the flow is very monotone and no dynamics to it...

Really what you need to do is record on something with some amount of quality so more can be heard out of the audio. Once you do that, it will be easier to give you an honest critique.

    i understood the lyrics.
I also understand how it be without a mic. 4-5 years ago I was spittin on this digital camera that doubled as a recorder- quality was wack as hell.

Shit was ok I believe. I'm listening to the track "Thru the Eyes of a Child" and I am getting the Tribe called quest vibe from you. I do not think your delivery is necessarily boring I just believe that it lacks energy. What separates new school from old school, I believe is that mcs are not afraid to get naked. They are just raw on the mic and leave everything there as Rakim and LL did and Busta continues to do. I would challenge you go all out and do a track out of your comfort zone just to test your limits. Talib Kweli on "Country Cousinz" or "Supreme Supreme" are good examples.
